The main lecturer and moderator of the seminar was the former Macedonian judge at the European Court of Human Rights, Judge Mirjana Lazarova Trajkovska.
She primarily referred to the importance of the case law in the work of the European Court and the case law as a guarantor of legal certainty. Furthermore, together with Velimir Delovski, a former legal assistant with the ECtHR, and currently part of the Bureau of the Government Agent for Representing Macedonia before the ECtHR, they presented the Methodology of the European Court of Human Rights for the use of case law. Thereby, as a former Constitutional Judge in the Republic of Macedonia, Judge Lazarova Trajkovska also spoke about the case law as a guarantor of legal certainty through the prism of the Constitutional Court.
In the second part of the seminar, the participants had the opportunity through an interactive part to share their experiences from the departments of court practice, the problems they face, the level of development of court practice in their court, as well as their real needs, to facilitate the use and application of case law. Practical and applicable experiences were shared by Judge Mirjana in order to assist their work, and in the end conclusions and recommendations were made to improve the work of these departments.
