To strengthen the capacities of the judiciary and the public prosecutor’s office in the efficient protection of citizens’ privacy, as well as other rights and fundamental freedoms affected by new technologies in the digital space in accordance with EU law and standards, an Analysis of training needs was prepared, including an Action plan for training for the judiciary and public prosecution.
Based on the Analysis, a Training Curriculum for personal data protection and the right to privacy in the online space was developed, which focuses on training programs for the current and future generations of judges and public prosecutors. The target group of the trainings are the students of the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors as well as judges from the Supreme Court, appeals and basic courts, prosecutors from the basic and higher public prosecutor’s offices and representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Department for Computer Crime and Digital Forensics. A training of trainers program is also included to train future lecturers who are expected to continuously train judges and public prosecutors on this topic.
The products were made within the framework of the project “Effective Justice for the Protection of basic freedoms and the Right to Privacy in the online space”, financed by the European Union and implemented by the Center for Legal Research and Analysis and the Macedonian Association of Young Lawyers.
