On December 13, 2024, the Center for Legal Research and Analysis and the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association, in cooperation with the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors, organized a training on personal data protection and the right to privacy for representatives from the judiciary, the public prosecution, and the Ministry of Interior.
The goal of the training was to strengthen the capacities of judges, public prosecutors, as well as data protection officers within the judiciary and the Ministry of Interior, for effectively addressing challenges related to the protection of personal data and the right to privacy, particularly in the application of the Law on Personal Data Protection.
The following topics were covered during the training:
- Legal framework for the protection of personal data;
- Obligations of courts and public prosecutors;
- Obligations of personal data protection officers;
- Video surveillance;
- Security of personal data processing.
The training was delivered by data protection experts Igor Kuzevski and Manuela Stanoevska-Stoilkovska, with 51 participants, including representatives from the courts, public prosecutor’s offices and the Ministry of Interior.
This training was part of the project „Effective Justice to Protect the Fundamental Freedoms and Privacy of People in the Online Space” funded by the European Union and implemented by the Center for Legal Research and Analysis and the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association.
