Judicial Mentorship and Youth Engagement for Gender Equality

About the Project

The project aims to contribute to a more inclusive and gender-sensitive society by strengthening the judicial system and actively involving youth in public policy-making processes. It addresses two interconnected systemic challenges: the insufficient practical application of the gender perspective in the judiciary and the limited, unsystematic participation of youth in public and political life.

In the judicial sector, the project envisions a needs assessment and the establishment of a gender-sensitive mentorship program. This will provide continuous practical support for judges, public prosecutors, and expert staff, focusing on recognizing gender-based risks, applying international standards, and ensuring equal access to justice.

In parallel, the project strengthens the role of youth through a youth school, local forums, student workshops, and a Hub for supporting youth initiatives in the field of gender equality and human rights. This way, young people gain knowledge, mentorship, and space for active civic participation, while institutions gain new channels for dialogue and innovation.

The project is implemented by the Center for Legal Research and Analysis (CLRA) in partnership with the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association (MYLA), with financial support from the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC) through the “CM-PG-2” program.
