FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS OF THE BASIC COURTS IN THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA

Within the framework of the project “Establishing analytical tools for monitoring the reforms to support the reforms in the justice sector in the Republic of North Macedonia”, the Center for Legal Research and Analysis prepared the Functional Analysis of the Basic Courts in the Republic of North Macedonia.

The purpose of this functional analysis is to identify the challenges that primary courts are dealing with in the exercise of judicial competences and the exercise of judicial authority. The analysis covers the key segments of the courts’ work, through the prism of several areas: independence and impartiality, efficiency, transparency and accountability, quality of judicial practice, human resources, spatial capacities, computer support in basic courts, financing of the judiciary and gender perspectives.
