The Center for Legal Research and Analysis on 24th October assisted with a team of legal experts was in Kavadarci to promote the simulator of small claims cases for the citizens.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

The simulator helps the citizens to estimate the costs for small claims cases, as it provides them with information about the court and lawyers\u2019 fees and costs. Small-claims cases are cases that are purely civil in nature, where the claim or relief pleaded for by the plaintiff is solely for reimbursements not exceeding MKD 600,000.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

The citizens were informed about the situation in the Basic Court in Kavadarci regarding the small claims cases, and were provided with details about the average duration of proceedings as well as the average time of the solution of the cases. For example, if the claim is filed on a basis of a debt in an amount of 10.000 MKD, the Basic Court in Kavadarci will take in average 105 days to decide or 1.3 court proceedings. The simulator provides an estimation if the claim is in amount of 10.000 denars, 25% of the value are dedicated to court and lawyers costs (or 2.541 denars).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

The program team was assisted with two legal experts who presented the simulator and informed the citizens about the justification of their claims, and advised them about the possibilities for future proceedings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

The Open days for the citizens, as well as the creation of the calculator and the analysis are part of the program \u201cEnhancing the transparency, legal certainty and efficiency of the judicial system in North Macedonia\u201d, supported by the British Embassy Skopje. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
