The President of the Center for Legal Research and Analysis (CLRA), Lidija Stojkova -Zafirovska, the Director of the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors, Natasha Gaber – Damjanovska, the Director of the Personal Data Protection Agency (PDPA), Imer Aliu and the President of the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association (MYLA), Alexandra Cvetanovska signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for  successful implementation of the project “Effective justice to Protect the Fundamental Freedoms and Privacy of People in the On-line Space”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

The Memorandum envisages strengthening the cooperation between the parties to successfully achieve the project objectives and it will be implemented through exchange of information, participation in the project initiatives and support during the implementation of the project activities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

The project “Effective justice to Protect the Fundamental Freedoms and Privacy of People in the On-line Space” is a two-year project financially supported by the European Union, and it is implemented by CLRA and MYLA. The aim of the project is to strengthen the capacities of the judiciary and the public prosecution in the efficient protection of citizens’ privacy, as well as other rights and fundamental freedoms affected by new technologies in the online space in accordance with EU law and standards.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

As a result of the project, the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors will benefit from the training curricula developed and enhanced capacities to train judges and prosecutors to protect the privacy of the people in line with EU standards. The Personal Data Protection Agency will benefit from the research and policy framework, capacity building and policy dialogue among the main stakeholders proposed with the action.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

The Memorandum enters into force on the day of its signing and will be valid until January 31, 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
