On September 15, 2023, the new cycle of trainings on the topic ,,The role and necessary skills of the mentors of newly elected and promoted judges” began in the appellate area of Shtip. As in the first cycle, which covered the appellate areas of Bitola, Skopje and Gostivar, the purpose of the training was to transfer the knowledge and experiences of the already trained mentors (judges) who were part of the training for training tutors for newly elected and promoted judges, which was carried out by the Dutch judge and president of the court in Zwolle, the Netherlands Mr. Bert Mann and the specialist in the training of judges, Marina Naumovska \u2013 Milevska.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

The training itself was divided into two parts, where in the first part Judge Gjorgi Andonov – President of the basic court of Shtip shared his experiences with the newly elected judges of his court. In the further course of the training, judge Marina Zravkova answered questions and spoke about her initial challenges and expectations as a newly elected judge in the basic court of Shtip. In addition, the lawyer Aleksandar Godzo had his presentation, he shared some of the experiences he personally had, in the capacity of an attorney in disputes in front of a newly elected, that is, a promoted judge.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

In the second, final part of the training, in the capacity of already trained judges, in order to transfer their knowledge, presentations were given by: judge Gjorgi Andonov, judge Biljana Kocevska from the Basic Criminal Court Skopje and judge Gabriela Gajdova from the Basic Court Veles. Judge Andonov shared some of the positive comparative experiences from England, Wales, Germany, France and Belgium. Then, judge Kocevska differentiated the term tutor from the term mentor in order to successfully distinguish them, so that finally judge Gajdova presented the method and procedure for supporting the work of a newly elected judge by the court through authorized persons – tutors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

After the presentations, the present judges engaged in a debate and gave their own comments and suggestions for achieving the goals of the training.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

The training was provided within the project ,,Improving the quality and responsibility of the Macedonian judicial sector”, which is financially supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
