On October 24, 2024, the Center for Legal Research and Analysis and the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association held a second workshop on the topic: “Artificial intelligence and digitization of the judiciary”. Introductory speeches were given by Bojana Bozinovska Siljanovska, President of the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association and Milena Josifovska, from the Center for Legal Research and Analysis.<\/p>\n

At the workshop, two public policy documents were presented on the following topics: “Digitalization of the judiciary and protection of personal data” – presented by Aleksandar Godzo, lawyer and legal expert on reforms in the judiciary and “Using algorithms and artificial intelligence (AI) in the judiciary – with a special reference to the right to protect personal data and privacy” – presented by Manuela Stanoevska Stoilkovska, an expert on personal data protection.<\/p>\n

The aim of the workshop was to harmonize conclusions and recommendations that will contribute to better policies for digitization in the judiciary and regulation of artificial intelligence. After the presentations, a broad discussion was held, focused on the different points of view from the institutions regarding the challenges of digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence in the judiciary.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of the workshop, specific recommendations for the advancement of public policies were determined for each of the areas that will serve to form a final document for public policies.<\/p>\n
