JUDICIAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN 2020-2022

The 2020-2022 Judiciary Improvement Plan is the culmination of the process of the First National Judiciary Reform and Performance Measurement, which highlighted key aspects in which more efforts and resources need to be invested.

Taking into account the findings of the First National Report on the Reforms and Performance of the Judiciary as well as the recommendations contained in the public policy documents to improve the efficiency, transparency, independence, impartiality, quality of judicial justice and professional development in the judiciary, in direct dialogues and consultations with representatives of the judiciary, the Center for Legal Research and Analysis prepared a Plan for improving the situation in the judiciary 2020-2022. The plan aims to help, first of all, the Ministry of Justice, the Judicial Council and the courts to assess the key areas of activity and to evaluate the achievements of the reforms in the specific areas, but also to set the priorities for the judicial reforms and the further development of the justice sector. All the courts in the Republic of North Macedonia, the Judicial Council, the Ministry of Justice and the Academy of Judges and Public Prosecutors participated in its preparation.

The plan for improving the judiciary was developed within the framework of the program “Improving Transparency, Efficiency and Legal Certainty in the Republic of North Macedonia”, supported by the British Embassy in Skopje.
