SUPPORTING JUDICIAL TRANSPARENCY AND PROMOTING PUBLIC TRUST IN THE JUSTICE SYSTEM

About the Project

The Macedonian Judges Association together with the Center for legal research and analysis, from the 1st of June 2022 started implementing the project Supporting judicial transparency and promoting public trust in the justice system.

The project’s goal is to strengthen the capacity of the Judiciary Media Council (JMC) to design and implement strategies and guidelines, organize and implement training programs, propose improved laws and regulations, and conduct outreach activities to the judiciary, media, and the public aimed to increase transparency and accountability and inspire confidence in the judicial institutions.

This project is designed to support North Macedonia’s judicial institutions in their efforts to increase the transparency, accountability and quality of justice.

The project objectives are:

O1:Strengthen the capacity of the judiciary to share timely and accurate information on criminal court cases with the media and public;

O2:Strengthen the capacity of journalists to provide timely and accurate reporting on criminal cases and rule of law issues;

O3: Improve the institutional capacity of the Judiciary Media Council;

O4:Develop a monitoring and evaluation plan to measure the project’s impact;
