TRAINING ON THE TOPIC “THE ROLE AND NECESSARY SKILLS OF THE MENTORS OF NEWLY ELECTED AND PROMOTED JUDGES”

On June 6, 2023, in the appellate area of Bitola, the first training of series of trainings on the topic “The role and necessary skills of the mentors of newly elected and promoted judges” was held. The purpose of the training was to pass on the experiences of already trained mentors (judges) who participated in the training of tutors for newly elected and promoted judges, which was conducted by the Dutch judge and president of the court in Zwolle, the Netherlands Mr. Bert Mann and the specialist for the training of judges, Marina Naumovska – Milevska. The idea of the training in Bitola was to create an opportunity for the already trained judges to share their experiences with other experienced judges from their appellate area, with the idea of applying it further every time there is a new or promoted judge in the court.

The training was divided into two parts, in the first part Judge Dragan Jakovlevski from Primary court of Bitola answered some questions and talked about his initial challenges and expectations as a newly elected judge and Acting President of Primary court of Bitola. Furthermore, Aleksandar Godzo spoke about the experiences that he personally had as a lawyer in disputes before a newly elected and promoted judge.

In the second, final part of the training, in the capacity of already trained judges, the following had their presentations: judge Tatjana Susuleska, judge Aleksandar Kambovski and judge Biljana Beleska Projkovska. The training was within the project “Improving the quality and responsibility of the Macedonian judicial sector”, which is financially supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
